Mata Vaishno Devi
Mata Vaishno Devi temple is the second most visited Hindu pilgrimage destination in India. This cave temple is situated in the Trikuta Hills in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir. The holy cave of Mata Vaishno Devi is said to have been discovered by Pandit Sridhar, a Hindu priest. Goddess Vaishnavi appeared in the dream of the priest and instructed him on how to find here abode on Trikuta Hills.
Shivkhori- Khori
Shivkhori- Khori means cave (Guffa) and Shiv Khori thus denotes Shiva's cave. This natural cave is about 200 metres long, one metre wide and two to three metres high and contains a self-made lingam, which according to the people is unending. The first entrance of the cave is so wide that 300 devotees can be accommodated at a time. Its cavern is spacious to accommodate large number of people. The inner chamber of the cave is smaller.
Baba Dhansar
The holy place of Baba Dhansar is located at Karua Jheel (Pond) near village Karua in Reasi district of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir. Karua Jheel is considered sacred where bathing is not permitted. However, the devotees may take a bath downstream. People believe that their wishes are fulfilled if they take bath in the stream and pray with complete faith.
Nau Devi Cave
This temple is a popular tourist attraction for the pristine location it is situated in and for the high reverence, it is held at. A journey of about hundred stairs leads to the small holy cave. You will find “pind” of the nine ‘devis’ (goddesses) which are incarnations of Goddess Durga.
Jhajjar Kotli
Jhajjar Kotli is the place which comes to everyone’s mind for an outing. It is a resort with fresh water stream and has turned out to be one of the favourite tourist destinations for the locals and tourists in Jammu & Kashmir.
Ban Ganga
Another holy stop when moving towards Vaishno Devi is Ban Ganga. It is one of the best places to visit in Katra. The Shivalik Range of Himalayas is where this Ganga originates from and visiting it is one of the best things to do in Kahsmir in June.
